The National GRIGSBY Family Society announces the 25th anniversary reunion to be held at Natural Bridge VA, the site of the first reunion. Featured are tours of the Lexington area and the seven Grigsby Hill Homes as well as a special Sunday service at the Falling Spring Presbyterian Church, the church of "Soldier John" Grigsby. The 2005 POSEY Family Reunion will be held on 23 July 2005 in Blythe, GA. This will be the first reunion that will host the LAKE, BROWN, CARTER, KING and MILES sub-lineages of the Posey family. WALKER Family members who are descendants of Prince, Beatric, Cassie and Lillie Belle are strongly encouraged to attend. Calling all descendants of Marie FERREE, who settled in Paradise, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in 1709. We have many fun activities planned -a bus tour of the Gettysburg Battlefield with a personal guide who will integrate our ancestors into the battle. See the layout of the Ferree land and the site of the original cabin. Will stop at the Lancaster County Historical Society.On Friday there will be a banquet with various speakers on aspects of Ferree family history. The LINDSEY family reunion will be held on August 6th at the AMVETS Pavilion west of Gettysburg on Route 116. These are descendants of Obed LINDSEY and Mary HENYON and their son Zina LINDSEY and Eliza RANNEY and their son, Daniel LINDSEY and Josephine Samantha SCOTT. The Association of BLAUVELT Descendants will hold its 79th Annual Meeting and Reunion in Wilmington, Delaware. The Association was founded in 1926 and today has over 700 members and is one of the oldest Dutch families living in the United States. The objectives are to hold Annual Meetings, promote an interest in genealogy, history and ancestry of the early Dutch settlers in New Amsterdam, with particular emphasis on Gerrit Hendrickszen de blau boer, who arrived in this country from Deventer in The Netherlands in 1638. The program will include a sail aboard the Kalmar Nyckel on the Christina River as Gerrit, believed to be the progenitor of the Blauvelt Family in America did, arriving at The Rocks at Swede's Landing, Delaware on March 29,1968. For 25 years the Dillion ASHER reunion has been held - a quarter of a century! George Matt Asher organized the reunion in 1980, with about 100 people attending. In the past few years, 600 people have attended. So come and celebrate this historic event with hayrides, pumpkin carving contests and other fun activities planned.
