Official Delegate to NGS

Each member society or organization should identify a delegate to NGS. The delegate is the official representative of your organization to NGS, and is the primary contact for all issues related to your organization’s rights and responsibilities in NGS. As the official representative of your organization to NGS, the delegate represents your organization’s needs. For more information see Delegates and Account Administrators.

NGS Magazine

Available quarterly in digital format or in print by mail for an additional $35/year (includes NGSQ as well)

A top benefit for NGS members, with articles on effectively using records for family history research—i.e., vital records, immigration, land, and courthouse records—and columns on genetic genealogy, repositories, technology, writing, etc. NGS Magazine features many “how to” articles and uses “show” and “tell” to teach family historians how to succeed across a wide variety of genealogical resources by learning best practices. In addition, society and organization content is now available in NGS Magazine too.

Your membership provides your organization with a limited license to download and use the material.

NGS Quarterly (NGSQ)

Available quarterly in digital format or in print by mail for an additional $35/year (includes NGS Magazine as well).

A leading scholarly journal in the field, highly in demand for its case studies and genealogies, essays on methodology, and book reviews. The NGSQ is one of the most important reference and teaching tools in genealogy.

The NGSQ, edited by recognized scholars in the field, publishes peer-reviewed articles which focus on methodology and how researchers have used research results to form or support conclusions about family connections and identity. The NGSQ is recognized by every top-level genealogical teaching program for its case histories—an invaluable tool in teaching research methodology.
