FAMILY MEMBERSHIP

A family membership option is available for two persons living in the same household for $95.00 per year. Family members receive all the same benefits as Individual members, but only one print delivery of NGS Magazine and NGSQ is mailed to that family address. Both family members may attend the NGS Family History Conference at the discounted member rate. Both receive member discounts on purchases of genealogy courses, books, and anything else offered in the NGS Store and both have full access member resources on the website. Each family member must register a separate email and password.

Family Membership is an option available at checkout for $95 in the NGS Store.

If you are already an individual member, you must contact membership@ngsgenealogy.org to cancel your current membership and purchase the upgrade to a Family Membership. The primary member and the family member will have the same start and expiration date, or renewal date.

LIFE MEMBERSHIP

NGS Life Membership bestows the privileges of NGS’s individual membership benefits for the applicant’s lifetime. It also demonstrates a member’s commitment to the lifelong pursuit and the importance of their personal family history. It encourages them to continue their work and leave a genealogical legacy to their family. It also supports NGS’s future educational work for the entire genealogical community.

Non-transferable and payable at time of application. Not available for organizational subscribers.

YOUTH/YOUNG ADULT

Membership for people age 14-24. Dues increase the year the member turns 25.

One-year fees $25 >

MEMBERSHIP: HOW IT WORKS

  • Note: If you do not have an account profile for NGS, create a profile before proceeding to join NGS. Create an NGS Profile >
  • Your membership or subscription begins the day you join and expires twelve months later. For example, join on 31 October 2021 and your expiration date will be 30 October 2022. Renewing members will have their current expiration date extended by a year.
  • NGS does not automatically renew a membership upon expiration. Members are notified two months before their expiration date and given the opportunity to renew.
  • NGS membership is for twelve months and dues are non-refundable.
  • For members outside the United States there is an additional charge of $30.00 for international postage.
